William (Willie) Matt Self of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life, Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. Willie Matt was born July 30, 1953 to Waymon Self and Theo Reeder Self in Mena, Arkansas. Willie Matt was 61 years, 7 months and 12 days old.
Willie Matt was a truck driver, shop foreman, mechanic and had many other skills. Willie Matt was always willing to help anyone who needed a hand. All of his friends knew that his advice, although sometimes in short comments, was from the heart. Willie Matt was a good friend, father and brother. He will be greatly missed by all. His children and grandchildren were the highlight of his life.
Willie Matt leaves behind to cherish his memory three daughters: Beverly White of Waldron, Arkansas, Nikki Silvey and husband Steven of Waldron, Arkansas and Renee' Pablo and husband Pedro of Ione, Arkansas. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Ashton Parsons, Bella Parsons, Kolby Silvey and Hector Pablo, two sisters, Nancy Self Casey and husband Jerry of Waldron, Arkansas and Kay Self Caldwell and husband Joe of Deland, Florida. Willie will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him, including many friends and family.
Willie Matt was preceded in death by his parents, Waymon and Theo Self and one nephew, Billy Joe Caldwell.
Willie Matt's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Pat Ray Biggs officiating. Arrangements and cremation are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
