Ronald (Ronnie) Lee Nelson, 61, of Winfield, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 23rd, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Ronnie was born on November 12, 1954 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to the late Earl and Faye Sparks Nelson.
Ronnie was an avid deer and turkey hunter, and he considered the woods his second home. Besides hunting, he liked to cook, spend time with his family, and travel. His favorite places to travel were to Colorado where he would camp and fish and to Louisiana where he liked to eat crawfish and sight see. He was a longtime member of Denton Baptist Church.
Ronnie leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Debbie, whom he adored; his son, Wesley and his wife April Nelson; his daughter Rachel and her husband Moses Piggee; 4 granddaughters, Jasmine (his favorite), Aria, Aniston, and Aniyah, and one grandson, Easton, all of Waldron. He also leaves behind his sister Willa Dean Lambert of Plainview, Arkansas, brother Gary Nelson of Waldron, Arkansas, and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Faye Nelson, and one brother Ed Nelson.
The visitation will be Sunday, April 24, 2016, at the Nelson residence from 7-10 pm. The service will be on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 1 pm at Sehorn Cemetery.
The pallbearers will include: Brandon Nelson, Billy Nelson, Brad McCurry, Harley McCurry, Lance Stinson, and Jeremy Metcalf.
