Robert "Cotton" Zimmer

Robert Olen "Cotton" Zimmer of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, March 27, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Cotton was born June 5, 1936 in Center Point, Arkansas to Pete F. Zimmer and Iva Flynn. Cotton was 79 years, 9 months and 22 days old. Cotton was a long time member of Bates Pentecostal Church. Cotton enjoyed going to church and being with his church family.

Cotton especially enjoyed chasing his cows around. Working on his farm and being outdoors made him happy. He enjoyed time with his family and friends.

Cotton leaves behind to cherish his memory, one daughter, Sheila Nix and three sons: Billy Zimmer and wife Cassie, Mark Zimmer and Brian Zimmer all of Waldron, Arkansas as well as one sister, Marie Carnahan of Packsaddle, Arkansas and one brother, Amos "Poss" Zimmer of Waldron, Arkansas. Pawpaw will forever remain in the hearts of his five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Cotton will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives he impacted, including a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones dear to his heart.

Cotton was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Iva Zimmer, grandchildren: Christopher and Adam and one sister, Louise Garrett, and two brothers, Perry (Bo) Zimmer and Lynell (Whistle) Zimmer and son in law Mark Nix.

Cotton's life celebration will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. James Self officiating. Interment will follow in the Lamb Cemetery near Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Cotton's pallbearers will be Billy Zimmer, Mark Zimmer, Brian Zimmer, Matthew Zimmer, Doug Beyard and Clint Johnston.

Cotton's visitation will be Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
