Reba Nell Bethel Bergmann, born May 25, 1927, at Wister, OK, went home to be with her Lord Aug. 3, 2018.
Reba Nell was a graduate from Poteau High School in 1945. In 1949 she graduated from East Central State College in Ada, OK. She also attended Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater, OK. and Northeastern College at Tahlequah, OK, majoring in public school music. She taught music in schools at Heavener, OK, Spiro, OK, Winona, MS, Lufkin, TX, and taught private piano in Atlanta, GA. She was active in music clubs and Rotary Anns. She was the organist in a Methodist Church in Lufkin TX., where services were broadcast locally. In Ada, OK, she played on a radio program that was broadcast locally. In Atlanta, GA, she was the organist at a Methodist Church there for 13 years. In 1979, they moved to Waldron to retire where she has been the organist/pianist at the Waldron United Methodist Church until just recently when it became too hard for her to continue in this position.
She loved people & enjoyed telling everyone she met how proud she was of her children & grandchildren. She loved telling stories about her family's history & some of the things that happened to them during the civil war era. She loved her Lord & told Him she would always use her talent for Him which she honored by being either the organist or pianist in the various churches they attended wherever they lived.
Reba Nell had no brothers or sisters. She is survived by their three children, Ruth Ann Bergmann Phillips, husband Anthony, in Spanish Fort, Al, David Harold Bergmann, in Ft. Smith, AR, & Robert Bethel Bergmann, wife Lisa, in Snellville, GA, six grand children, & eight great grandchildren. She was a blessing to all who knew her & felt that she was blessed in many ways by all the many friends she knew & her family whom she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil & Lou Ella Ray Bethel, & her husband of 65 years, Harold Bergmann.
Reba Nell's memorial life celebration will be at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Waldron United Methodist Church in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Diane Miller officiating. Arrangements and cremation are being entrusted to Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
