Kathern Ann Newman of Mansfield, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, February 8, 2016 in Mansfield, Arkansas. Kathern was born June 22, 1960 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Argus M. Daffron and Edith Sue (Farrar) Daffron. Kathern was 55 years, 7 months and 17 days old.
Kathern was a lady of diversity. She had a vast array of things she enjoyed doing. From cooking to couponing to going to yard sales and adding to her M&M collection. She was always busy helping someone. Kathern was very involved in the TOPS program and also worked at Abilities Unlimited. Kathern had a way with people and children. She volunteered at one of her granddaughters school, helping the teachers in any way she could. The teachers and children couldn't wait to get to work with the "fun Nana". Kathern had a warm and comforting disposition and she embraced every situation with love. Spending time with her family was some of Kathern's most treasured memories.
Kathern leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 23 years, Ricky Newman of the home, two daughters: Brittany Hill and husband Carl of Mansfield, Arkansas, Crissy Johnston and husband Matt of Indianola, Oklahoma and two sons: Ricky (Jody) Newman of Mansfield, Arkansas and Brian Thompson of Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Kathern is also survived by one sister, Carolyn Morris of Booneville, Arkansas, two brothers: Kevin Daffron of Mansfield, Arkansas and Pete Daffron of Midland, Arkansas. Nana will forever remain in the hearts of her grandchildren: Alyssa Thompson, Kaleb Johnston, Joshua Johnston, Aaron Johnston and Emily Johnston. Kathern will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives she impacted including a host of extended family, friends, neighbors and loved ones close to her heart.
Kathern was preceded in death by her parents: Argus and Edith Daffron and a brother Billy Owen.
Kathern's graveside life celebration will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Midland, Arkansas with Rev. Kenneth Elmore officiating. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
