Jimmy Clayton Mourton, age 79, of Waldron Arkansas, passed away on June 18, 2018 in Ft. Smith Arkansas.
Jim was born in Mena, Arkansas to Phelon and Gertrude (Reed) Mourton on July 17, 1938. He went to school in Mena Arkansas. He married Melba Dean Wagner on March 21, 1959 in Waldron, AR. He worked as a furniture maker and loved fishing and hunting.
Jim is survived by his son Steve Mourton and daughter in law Denise (Edmoundson) Mourton of Waldron. Arkansas, sisters: Erma Jean Lawrence, Bettye Reid, Mary Jane Calicott and Yovonne Young. Jim will forever remain in the hearts of his granddaughter Mandy (Mourton) Foster and husband Jon Foster of Mansfield, AR., grandson Josh Mourton and wife Ashley Mourton of Greenwood, AR. great grandchildren Shayla Foster, Hayden Foster, Griffin Mourton, and Coltyn Mourton. Jim will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives he impacted including numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife Melba Mourton, father Phelon Mourton, mother Gertrude Mourton, brothers C.B. Mourton and Boby Lee Mourton.
Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday June 25, 2018 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with Bro, Jim Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery in Waldron Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
Jim's visitation will be Monday, June 25, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
