Jerry Wayne Claunts

Jerry Wayne Claunts passed from this life Friday, June 26, 2015 in Fort Smith Arkansas. Jerry was born March 2, 1943 to Jake and Jessie (Pendergrass) Claunts in Hontubby, Oklahoma. He was 72 Years, 3 months, and 24 days old.

Jerry had many loves in his life. He loved to carve, hunt, and just being outdoors. Of all the hobbies that Jerry had, fishing was his absolute favorite. In his younger days he spent many hours singing and playing his guitar. The most cherished memories are the ones he spent with his grand children and great grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife Nancy of Y-City, Arkansas, eight children: Donna K. Lewis and husband Tim of Waldron, Arkansas, Carmen Harris of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Wesley Claunts and wife Misty of Havana, Arkansas, Teresa Singleton and husband Vernal Carl of Y-City, Arkansas, Tracy Plowman and husband Allen of Elm Park, Arkansas, Wayne Boren and wife Melanie of Waldron, Arkansas, Connie Black of Nella, Arkansas, and Sue Boren of Boonville, Arkansas. Papa is survived by 24 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Jerry is also survived by two brothers: Jim Claunts of Oregon and Lee Claunts of Arizona, one sister Thelma Cagle of Bates, Arkansas.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, son Clifton Claunts and grandson Colt Claunts. Jerry is also preceded in death by four brothers: Bob Claunts, James Carl Claunts, Delbert Claunts and Rick Claunts and one sister Delma Battles.

Jerry's memorial life celebration will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Mike Shaddon officiating. Arrangements and cremation are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory.
