James "Jim" Gilbert Gilchrist

James Gilbert (Jim) Gilchrist of Waldron, Arkansas (formerly of Marshalltown, Iowa) died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in Waldron, surrounded by loved ones. Jim was born May 23, 1929 in Los Angeles, California.

Jim married the love of his life, Joy Mae Stanley in 1950. Together they raised seven children. Jim worked for Lennox Industries as a draftsman and editor of the Engineering Handbook. After early retirement from Lennox, he worked at Fisher Controls as a market research analyst and forecaster. He retired from Fisher in 1992. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Jim leaves behind his loving wife Joy and their children: James Jay Gilchrist, Michael Joseph Gilchrist, Joni Anne Gilchrist, Janet Marie Bierwirth, Marcia Jo Johnson, Maureen Ann Gummert and Mary Margaret Anderson, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jim will be missed by all who knew him.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Elmer and Kathryn Wyome Gilchrist, and siblings Charles Ore and Katherine Luella.

Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
