Etta Flossie Vaughn of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, January 15, 2015 in Waldron, Arkansas. Etta was born March 22, 1930 in Waldron, Arkansas to Johnny Wagner and Dellar (Horton)Wagner in Waldron, Arkansas. Etta was a member of Friendship Pentecostal Church of God near Waldron, Arkansas.
Etta, with her sweet spirit and smile to match, was always a joy to be around. She was always welcoming everyone to come in and sit with her to visit and eat. Etta loved to cook and enjoyed sharing with her family and friends. She was notorious for her fried pies. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and working in her flowers. After retiring from The Waldron Furniture Factory, Etta had even more time to do the things she enjoyed. As active as Etta was, her family was the highlight of her life. Time spent with each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren was most precious to her. She especially enjoyed every opportunity to make memories with her great great grandson. There was no doubt of the love and care Etta had for her family.
Etta leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter, Della Yandell of Waldron, Arkansas and one son, Chester Vaughn and wife Kathy of Greenwood, Arkansas. Granny will forever remain in the hearts of her grandchildren: Alishia Cabe and husband Harrell of Waldron, Arkansas, Kandi Williams and husband David of Greenwood, Arkansas and Chad Vaughn and wife Mary of Waldron, Arkansas as well as four great grandchildren: Savanna Thornton and husband Tyler, Marci Aboul-Zelof and husband Marwan, Dustin Williams and Jake Williams and one great great grandson, Cason Thornton. Etta is also survived by one sister, Madie Plum and one brother James Wagner both of Waldron, Arkansas. Etta will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives were impacted by her including a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, wonderful neighbors and loved ones.
Etta is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Chester (Jake) Vaughn, three sisters: Florence Walker, Zadie Dedmon, and Ada Oliver and two brothers, Walter Wagner and Carel Wagner and son in law, James Yandell.
Etta's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Friendship Pentecostal Church of God with Rev. Donnie Wagner officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Cemetery near Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage
Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
Etta's pallbearers will be her grandsons: Chad Vaughn, Dustin Williams, Jake Williams, David Williams, Tyler Thornton and Harrell Cabe.
Etta's visitation will be Friday, January 16, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where Etta's family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
