Zola Mae Scantling of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life, Sunday, December 29, 2013 in Tucson, Arizona. Zola was born September 21, 1942 to Leon and Ruth Brown in Harlingen, Texas. She was 71 years old.
Zola was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Waldron, Arkansas. When she was 8 years old she was baptized. She loved helping everyone she could. She enjoyed getting to help work on the building on the new Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.
Zola is survived by one daughter, Sherrie Singleton and husband Leonard of Y-City, Arkansas, two adopted children, Whitney Singleton and Billy Singleton of Waldron, Arkansas, two brothers: James Brown and wife Jean of Waldron, Arkansas, Rodney Brown and wife Treasa of Arkoma, Oklahoma, two sisters, Billy Fay Underbrink of Ingleside, Texas and Joy Elliott of Freeport, Texas. Zola will forever remain in the hearts of eight grandchildren: Leonard Singleton II, Bobby Singleton, Jennifer Valdez and husband Ruben, Danaile Scantling, Ronnie Scantling, Michael Scantling, Betheny Scantling and Christopher Scantling, as well as 14 great grandchildren. Zola will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives were impacted by her including many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends and loved ones.
Zola is preceded in death by her husband Bob Scantling, parents, Leon and Ruth Brown, two sons, Bobby Jr. and Rory, two brothers, Bubba and Aubry.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Waldron, Arkansas with Brother Frank Hopkins officiating.
