Wanda Lorraine (Hunt) Watkins of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday March 30, 2014 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. Wanda was born June 6, 1939 to Claude Ellis Hunt and Sarah Elma (Cheek) Hunt in Waldron, Arkansas. Wanda was 74 years, 9 months and 24 days old. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Waldron, Arkansas.
Wanda was married to the love of her life, Linden Watkins for 48 marvelous years before Linden went on to Heaven to wait for her. Together they raised four amazing children and played a huge role in the lives of their grandchildren. Wanda enjoyed listening to good old fashion country music and watching music videos. She loved it when "King" George would come on. She would just grin and light up the room with that smile. Whether it was playing ball of some kind or a school function, Wanda had a wonderful time going to watch her grandchildren in their activities. Wanda was always up for a road trip of any kind especially a shopping trip with her girls. She could always find a bargain that needed a new home. Wanda was a kind and caring person. She enjoyed spending time with her family and always wanted to see them happy. The memories made with her loved ones will forever be treasured by each of them.
Wanda leaves behind to cherish her memory, three daughters: Denise Wright and husband Mike of Waldron, Arkansas, Denan Cagle and husband Gaylen of Mountainburg, Arkansas and Donna Roberts and husband Eric of Springdale, Arkansas; one son, Randy Watkins and wife Vicki of Waldron, Arkansas. Grandma will forever remain in the hearts of her eight grandchildren: Rachael Sehorn, Lauren Wright, Jazlie Cagle, MaKay Cagle, Dalen Cagle, Kenton Roberts, Katie Roberts and Shannon Rogers as well as one great grandson, Tyler Sehorn. Wanda is also survived by one sister, Pam Langston of Barling, Arkansas and one brother, Harold Jo Hunt of Oak Hurst, California, four sister-in-laws: Ann Hunt of Waveland, Arkansas, Alene Hunt of New Mexico, Ella Beth Watkins of Waldron, Arkansas and Sue Watkins of Boles, Arkansas. Wanda will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives she impacted by her, including an extended family of friends and loved ones dear to her heart.
Wanda was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Linden Watkins, her parents, Ellis and Elma Hunt and two brothers, Donald Hunt and Douglas Hunt.
Wanda's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Pat Ray Biggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
Wanda's pallbearers will be Mike Wright, Eric Roberts, Makay Cagle, Derek Sehorn. Honorary pallbearers will be staff of Waldron Nursing Center.
Wanda's visitation will be Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home where Wanda's family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
