Velma Faye Daggs, 97, of Waldron, Arkansas passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009 in a Waldron, Arkansas hospital.
Velma was born in Sugar Grove, Arkansas on October 25, 1911, the daughter of the late William and Rosa (Wilkins) Townsend.
She attended the Waldron First Church of the Nazarene and was a homemaker
Velma is survived by a son, Jim Daggs and wife Loretta of Waldron, Arkansas. She is also survived by three grandsons, Jimmy Daggs of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Kenneth Daggs of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Jason Daggs of Clarksville, Arkansas; three granddaughter, Sherry Hoffman of Alma, Arkansas, Pam Owens of Waldron, Arkansas and Terri Benefield of Fanshaw, Oklahoma; and 10 great grandkids
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Rev. Olen Daggs and her great grandson Jase Daggs.
Velma?s funeral service will be at the Sugar Grove Community Church at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 21st, with Rev. Marvin Frederick and Rev. Clifton Daggs officiating with interment in the Sugar Grove Cemetery near Booneville, Arkansas under the direction of the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
Velma?s pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jimmy, Kenneth and Jason Daggs, Randy Hoffman, Myrtie Owens and Chad Owens.
Her honorary pallbearers will be Glen Cook and Rev. Clifton Daggs.
Her visitation will be Sunday, April 19, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, April 20, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Velma?s family will receive friends and family Monday, April, 20, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
