Tommie G. Williams of Mansfield Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 4, 2013 in Waldron, Arkansas. Tommie was born July 17, 1934 in Georgetown, Texas to Burness E. Williams and Clara (Guthrie) Williams.
Tommie was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and a retired cattle rancher. As a young man, Tommie grew up on a ranch in Georgetown, Texas, where he and his family operated a Grade A dairy farm. Tommie was known in Texas for his show calves, which he started in at the age of 12. Tommie married his wife Margaret in 1965 and together they moved from Odessa, Texas to Opal, Arkansas where they started the LL Simmental Ranch. In 1977, they moved to Bluffton, Arkansas to begin their registered cattle business. Tommie had served on the state board of the Arkansas Cattlemen's Association.
Tommie leaves behind to cherish his memory, special friends, Doug and Janie Graves and Meagan Graves.
Tommie is preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret L. Williams and his parents Burness and Clara Williams.
Tommie's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas with Larry Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
Tommie's pallbearers will be Leonard Fuson, Mike Hunt, Roy Austin, Rick Metcalf, Darvin Hutchens and Howard Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Orman McCafferty and Gary Moore .
Tommie's visitation will be Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where Tommie's family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
