Silas Meredith

Silas Montaing Meredith, of Waldron, Arkansas went to be the Lord, Tuesday, August 21, 2012 surrounded by his family. Montaing was born December 3, 1928 to Mack C. and Noma Artilda (Tull) Meredith in Hon, Arkansas. Montaing was 83 years, 8 months, and 18 days old. Montaing was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He attended Pleasant Grove #3 Baptist Church near Waldron. He liked to watch old western movies. But, Montaing was the happiest when he was on the farm with his cattle and on his Ford Tractor taking care of his farm. Montaing leaves behind to cherish his memory, one son, Monty R. Meredith of Waldron, Arkansas. Pa-tain as his grandchildren called him will be missed by one grandson, Eric Meredith and wife Sheri of Jefferson, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Montessa N. Elkins and husband David of White Hall, Arkansas; four great-grandchildren, Paige and Colton Meredith of Sheridan, Arkansas; Tessa and Tre Elkins of White Hall, Arkansas and one sister, Billie Jean Frost and husband Jimmy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Montaing is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Della Mae (Langston) Meredith; parents, Mack C. and Noma Artilda (Tull) Meredith; and one brother, Donald Meredith. Montaing's life celebration service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rickey Hunt, officiating. Interment will follow in the Birdsview Cemetery in Waldron. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas. Montaing's pallbearers will be Wes Goodner, Nathan Goodner, Monty Meredith, Tommy Langston, Jr., Thomas Langston, Paul Langston, Shawn Roberts and Buddy Slaten. His honorary pallbearers will be Ronald D. Doyle, David Doyle, Jeremy Slaten, Bubba Slaten, Lee Allen Langston, Raleigh Frost, Micheal Meredith and John Gibson. Montaing's visitation will be Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where his family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m..
