Sharon Owens

Sharon Elizabeth (Hudgens) Owens of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life, Thursday, May 9, 2013 in Fort Smith, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born March 12, 1943 to Charley Hudgens and Shirley (Blaylock) Hudgens in Waldron, Arkansas. Sharon was 70 years, 1 month and 27 days. At the young age of 16, Sharon married the love of her life, Worman Owens. Together they made their life in Scott County. While raising her family, Sharon worked at a few different jobs throughout her lifetime including being the Scott County Deputy Clerk, a USDA Inspector for Valmac Industries, and at retirement she was employed by Waldron Public Schools to work in the cafeteria. Although working and raising a family is never uneventful, whatever the day had in store, Sharon was a strong woman and conquered whatever obstacle came her way and never faltered. Sharon loved her family and especially enjoyed being a Memaw. When all her grandchildren would come to visit, it was quite a gathering. Sharon loved making special memories with each and everyone of them. Sharon leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 53 years Worman Owens of the home, two daughters, Lisa Pace and Lori Jones and two sons, James Owens and Jeffrey Owens all of Waldron, Arkansas. Memaw will forever be missed by her grandchildren: Taylon Pace, Donovan Pace, Zachary Owens, Michele Owens Gonzalez, Austyn Jones, Brody Jones, April Owens, Chelsie Owens and Casey Owens as well as six great grandchildren. Sharon is also survived by one sister, Leola Stringer and husband Freddie of Fort Smith, Arkansas and one brother Jimmy Hudgens of Waldron, Arkansas. Sharon will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives were impacted by her including a host of nieces, nephews, close friends and loved ones. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Charley and Shirley (Blaylock) Hudgens and one sister in law Carolyn Hudgens. Sharon?s life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Mike Shaddon officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas. Sharon?s pallbearers will be Brian Jones, Zach Owens, Casey Owens, Donovan Pace, Austyn Jones and Brody Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Taylon Pace, Louanna Smith and Gina Newman. Sharon?s visitation will be Sunday, May 12, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where Sharon?s family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
