To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1
Ronnie Lee Plummer, 68 of Waldron, AR lost his eight and a half year battle with cancer on March 3, 2018 in his home. When initially diagnosed, he asked God to carry this burden and His will be done. As Ronnie put it.........."this is too big for me". Ronnie fought with courage, faith and a strong will to carry on.
Ronnie was born on April 5, 1949 in Fort Smith, AR to Louie and Evilee (Hudson) Plummer. He graduated from Waldron High School in 1967 and then attended Westark Junior College and Henderson State University. On June 26, 1970 he married his best friend, Sherry (Rice) and together they raised two children who were the greatest delight of their life.
Early on, Ronnie was employed in various sales positions until he found his true calling. In 1981, he became an agent with State Farm Insurance and continued until his passing. During this time he was a volunteer fireman for the City of Waldron for 25 years. He was also actively involved with the National Wild Turkey Federation. In his free time he enjoyed turkey hunting with his wife and close friends. He also enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his grandkids. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Waldron.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife Sherry of 47 years; daughter Tracie (Darriell) Mathis of Dora, OK, son Jon Plummer of Russellville, AR; mother Evilee Plummer; brothers Gary (Jeanine) Plummer and Terry (Jackie) Plummer; sister Elodee (J.C.) Cash, all of Waldron. He also leaves behind four grandchildren; Cayla Plummer of Fayetteville, AR, Seth Plummer of Russellville, AR, Lauren and Lillie Mathis of Dora, OK; five nieces and nephews along with their children; several cousins and many close friends. Ronnie is also survived by two sister in laws, Christy and Karen and one brother in law, Ralph. He is preceded in death by his father Louie Plummer.

Private interment will be at Lower Centerpoint Cemetery. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, March 5, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be State Farm agents.
A special thanks to Peachtree Hospice for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Peachtree Hospice, charity of choice or cemetery fund.
The following was especially meaningful to Ronnie: "I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on his tombstone. He noted that first came the date of his birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all.............was the dash between those years."
