Rita G. Richmond of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life, Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Rita was born January 15, 1955 to V.F. Nowlin and Kathryn (Ary) Nowlin in Poteau, Oklahoma.
Rita was 58 years, 11 months and 17 days old. Rita was a member of Waldron Church of Christ in Waldron, Arkansas.

Rita worked for a long time at Katherine's Diner in Heavener. When Rita met and married her love, her husband of 35 years, Lanny Richmond, she knew they would spend much of their time doing what they both loved and that was playing and listening to music. Lanny was involved in the band and she was right beside him, supporting his every move. In the last few years, she loved to be involved with the "Show Roomi�½i�½ and she ran the concession stand. She was instrumental in keeping everyone informed of the activities scheduled for the weekend at the Show Room. Whether it was birthday celebrations to who the entertainment for the weekend was, Rita was on top of it. Not only did Rita love and support her husband, she was also extremely involved with her four boys and their families. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and going to the sporting events they were involved in. Nanna was most proud of each of her family members and the time spent with them is to be treasured always.

Rita is survived by her husband, Lanny Richmond of the home, four sons: Jackie Richmond and wife Amber, Victor Richmond, Joe Richmond and wife Beverly, Landon (Boogie) Richmond II all of Waldron, Arkansas. Nanna will forever be missed by her seven grandchildren: Emily, Jessica, Hunter, Whitney, Molly, Landon III and Chloe. Rita is also survived by her mother, Kathryn Ary Nowlin and two sisters, Shelly and husband Jon of Edmond, Oklahoma and Shannon and husband Larry of Summerfield, Oklahoma. Rita will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives were impacted by her including nieces, nephews, a large extended family, friends and many loved ones.

Rita is preceded in death by her father, V.F. Nowlin and one daughter Chandra Richmond.

Rita's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2013 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Gray officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Rita's pallbearers will be Jackie Richmond, Victor Richmond, Joe Richmond, Landon (Boogie)Richmond II, Hunter Richmond and Paul LeBleu. Honorary pallbearers will be Scotty King and Moe Shores.

Rita's visitation will be Friday, January 3, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where Rita's family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
