Richard Richard

Richard S. (Dick) Wagner, better known to his friends as Reddo, Waggie T or Wag, took his heavenly flight to take up his eternal residence in heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 12, 2012. He passed away at the John McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas after a lengthy illness. Dick was born March 18, 1948 to the late George Jackson Wagner and Wilma Georgetta (Stone) Wagner in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Dick was 64 years, 8 months and 24 days old. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Waldron, Arkansas.

In 1966 Dick graduated from Waldron High School. He went on to recive his bachelors and masters degrees in education from Henderson State University. He retired a coach and teacher from the Little Rock and Pulaski County School System. He was also an instructor at Pulaski Tech for 8 years. Dick served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He also spent time in Germany and the United States.
Dick was a member of VFW Post 9095 in Little Rock, Arkansas, CAP CASI competition chili pod in Little Rock and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Dick leaves behind to cherish his memory, one son, David Wagner of Alexandria, Virginia, one sister, Kathy Cabe and husband Bill of Waldron, Arkansas. Dick will be missed by one niece, Jennifer Shaddon and husband Gary of Y-City, Arkansas and one nephew, Jeff Cabe and wife Angel of Waldron, Arkansas. Dick is also survived by two great nieces: Vanessa Lamproe and husband Jim of Rudy, Arkansas and Katie Cabe of Waldron, Arkansas, two great nephews: Jamie Shaddon of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Kyler Cabe of Waldron,Arkansas, one great great niece and one great great nephew, Brylynn and Eli Lamproe of Rudy, Arkansas as well as two aunts: Elizabeth Stefan and husband John, Virginia Wagner all of Uniontown, Pennsylvania.

Dick?s memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Temple Baptist Church in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Jack Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Birdsview Cemetery with military honors. Cremation and arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.

Dick?s honorary pallbearers will be the Waldron High School Class of 1966.

In lieu of flowers, Richard requested memorials be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 823, Waldron, AR 72958.
