Richard Lee (Buddy) Crossett of Waldron, Arkansas went to rest, Sunday morning, August 26, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Buddy was born February 11, 1930 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Ernest Lee and Thelma Louise (McGuyre) Crossett. Buddy was 82 years, 6 months and 15 days old. Buddy was a member of the Waldron First United Methodist Church. Buddy grew up and went to school in Watson Chapel where he graduated in 1947. From 1950 until 1954 Buddy served in the United States Air Force. He was involved in the Korean Conflict. During his tenure he received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. In 1957 Buddy married the love of his life, Ann Corkill. In 1960 Buddy graduated from what was formerly Arkansas A&M, now University of Arkansas in Monticello, with a BS in Forestry. Therefore awarding him a job with the US Forrest Service as a forester, his last 15 years he was a district ranger until his retirement in 1986. Buddy?s job allowed him and his family the opportunity to live in many different cities across the South. Buddy served in many capacities of several organizations throughout his lifetime including President of Waldron Golf Club, President of Waldron Chamber of Commerce, Waldron Men?s Prayer Breakfast, Optimist Club of Lenoir, NC, Kiwanis? Club Member in Andalusia, AL, and being an Honorary Chapter Farmer of FFA. Buddy leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 55 years as of August 30, Ann (Corkill) Crossett of the home; two daughters, Lesa (Crossett) Ballou and husband Harold of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Lori Ann Crossett of Little Rock, Arkansas; one son, Richard Lee Crossett, II and wife Sherri of Searcy, Arkansas. Peepaw Crossett is also survived by four grandchildren, Christopher and Nathan Ballou, Autumn Paige Crossett and Hunter Kevin Crossett. Buddy is also survived by one sister, Mamie Carter of Mount George, Arkansas; one brother, Harry Crossett and wife Flora Mae of Monticello, Arkansas. Buddy is preceded in death in addition to his parents by one brother, Andrew Crossett. Buddy?s life celebration will be Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., at the Waldron First United Methodist Church with Rev. Diane Miller, officiating. Interment will be in the Birdsview Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas. Buddy?s pallbearers will be family. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Waldron Country Club. Buddy?s visitation will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m..
