William ?Phil? Stinson of Cedar Creek, Arkansas passed from this life on Friday, June 14, 2013 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Phil was born April 9, 1931 in Cedar Creek, Arkansas to Lester W. Stinson and Eula Ann (Nelson) Stinson. Phil was 82 years, 2 months and 5 days old. Phil spent his early years in Arkansas, leaving to join the Air Force in 1950 where he proudly served his country during the Korean War. After leaving military service, Phil worked for General Motors, then worked as a contractor in Kansas City. In the early 1970?s he returned to his childhood home, where he ran the family farm. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family. Phil was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Phil leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Mary of the home, two children, Sherry Stinson of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Bernie Stinson of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Papaw will forever be missed by two grandchildren, Bronson Stinson of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Benjamin Stinson of Hayworth, Oklahoma. Phil is survived by his dear mother-in-law, Bernice Thornton, of the home. Phil will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him including a host of cousins, wonderful friends and loved ones. Phil?s life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Grady Parker and Rev. Waymon Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Creek Cemetery in Cedar Creek, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas. Phil?s pallbearers will be Ben Stinson, Bronson Stinson, James Forbes, Buel Watts, Kenneth Stinson and John Hammons. Phil?s visitation will be Monday, June 17, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where Phil?s family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
