Paul Newborn

Paul Leon Newborn of Waldron, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, September 16, 2013 in Springdale, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born November 9, 1934 to Maurice F. Newborn and Elva R. (Solomon) Newborn in Waldron, Arkansas.

Paul served a four year service in the United Air Force from 1954-1958. He later went on to the Dallas School of Mortuary Science where he received his license as a funeral director and embalmer. He worked in the funeral industry for six years before opening his own business. Prior to retirement, Paul owned and operated, Paul Newborn Transport. Paul loved working on his farm and riding his tractor. He loved going to the Rock Café downtown and drinking coffee with everyone. Paul was notorious for wearing his cowboy hat everywhere he went. For the last six months, Paul had residence at Shiloh Nursing Center where he was lovingly, and fittingly, referred to as "cowboy." Paul loved his family and especially enjoyed and treasured those grandkids. On September 20, 2013, Paul and his bride would have celebrated their 54 year anniversary.

Paul leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife Sharon Cherry Newborn, two daughters, Jalene Casias and Shannon Hodge. Granddad will forever be missed by his grandchildren: Maegan Hodge, Tori Hodge, Jon-Paul Casias, Carter Casias and David Hodge. Paul was also dearly loved by and will be missed by one sister, Patricia Rose and one brother, Bill Newborn. Paul will be missed by all who knew him and the many whose lives he impacted including numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Elva Newborn.

Paul's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Waldron First Baptist Church in Waldron, Arkansas with Warren Gasaway officiating. Interment will follow in the Pilot Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Paul's pallbearers will be Neil Cherry, Lynn Newborn, Phil Casias, Randy Cherry, Bill Hodge, Jon-Paul Casias, Carter Casias and David Hodge.

Paul's visitation will be Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where Paul's family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
