Martha Mae (Roberson) Defoor of Harvey, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, March 7, 2013 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. Martha was born May 4, 1932 to William Harvey Roberson and Elsie Elizabeth (Brown) Roberson in Little Texas, Arkansas. Martha was 80 years, 10 months and 3 days old. Martha was a member of Mulberry Freewill Baptist Church near Gravelly, Arkansas. In June 1957, Martha married the love of her life, Carlton Defoor. They enjoyed 45 years together before his passing in 2003. They raised four children and shared their lives with many, many friends and loved ones. All who knew Martha, knew the love she had for her family. She made no bones about her devotion and commitment to her loved ones. Martha was notorious across several counties for her cooking. If you went to Martha?s home she expected you to eat. If you didn?t go back for seconds, then something was wrong. Martha?s, made from scratch, pies and fried pies have been a long time sought after delicacy at local fund raisers. It?s been said, that someone once paid $400.00 for some of Ms. Martha?s fried peach pies. Martha leaves behind to cherish her memory, four daughters: Carolyn Williams and husband David of Harvey, Arkansas, Marilyn Sherrill and husband Terry of Waldron, Arkansas, Deloris Hutchens and husband Jerry, Janice Blankenship and husband Robert all of Harvey, Arkansas. Gran will forever be missed by nine grandchildren: Sue Cox, Laura Kluthe, Kris Williams, Amanda Hill, Megan Bass, Lisa Hunt, Jeremy Hutchens, Lindsy Kearney and Ethan Blankenship. Gran will also be missed by 18 great grandchildren and one on the way. Martha is also survived by one sister, Mary Blackwell and husband Doug of Jesseville, Arkansas and four brothers: Harvey Roberson of Bluffton, Arkansas, Dan Roberson of Jesseville, Arkansas, Jim Roberson and wife Vickie of Bluffton, Tommy Roberson and wife Mary of Little Texas, Arkansas. Gran will be missed by all who knew her and the many whose lives she touched, including a number of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. Martha is preceded in death by her husband Carlton Defoor, her parents, William and Elsie Roberson, brothers R.B. Roberson, R.C. Roberson and sisters in law, Veaora Roberson, Brenda Roberson and Betty Roberson. Martha?s life celebration will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Mulberry Freewill Baptist Church in Gravelly, Arkansas with Rev. Rickey Hunt and Rev. David Riker officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Creek Cemetery in Cedar Creek, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas. Martha?s pallbearers will be Kris Williams, Jared Kluthe, Darris Hill, Jeremy Hutchens, Nickey Hunt and Josh Kearney. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Sherrill, Stephen Bass, Adam Cox, and Ethan Blankenship. Martha?s visitation will be 2:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where her family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
