Loyd Duncan 80, of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life, Thursday, April 8, 2010 in his home. Loyd was born January 1, 1930 in Maude, Oklahoma to the late Joseph and Audie (Young) Duncan. He was a member of the Bates Assembly of God Church and was retired from the Waldron Furniture Factory. Loyd is survived by his two sons, Dennis Duncan and wife Julie of Waldron, Arkansas, Carl Duncan of Waldron, Arkansas; one daughter Rose Bates and husband Mark of Seattle Washington; four grandchildren, Jordan, Amber and Alyssa Duncan , Loyd Lee Bates all of Waldron, Arkansas; one great-grandson, Julian Max Shaddon; three sisters, Edith Thompson of Waldron, Arkansas, Louise Thompson of Russellville, Arkansas, Etta Newman of Mansfield, Arkansas; two brothers, Sammy Duncan of Cauthron, Arkansas, Jim Duncan of Pocola, Oklahoma; and a special friend Maxine Huddleston of Waldron, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Loretta Duncan; four sisters, Ella, Stella, Marie, Faye; six brothers, Willie, Joe, Dink, Jack, Freddie, and Elmer. Loyd?s graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Kirk Cemetery in Cauthron, Arkansas with Rev. Jason Goshorn, officiating. Arrangements are being entrusted to Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas. His honorary pallbearers will be Troy Nevills, Gene Hill, Terry Nix, Rod Nix and O. B. Beshears. Visitation will be 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, April, 13, 2010 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
