Louise P. Dunn of Mt. Ida, Arkansas formerly of Pencil Bluff, Arkansas passed from this life, Friday, June 28, 2019 in a Mt. Ida Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Louise was born November 18, 1920 in Huckabay, Texas to James Walter and Louisa Emaline (Humphries) Philips. She was 98 years old.
Louise grew up on a farm where hard work and Christian values were expected from everyone. She married Travis Dunn, November 18, 1939 and together they raised three daughters. Louise spent many hours behind a sewing machine making dresses for her daughters as they grew up, making their wedding dresses they wore when each got married and continued to sew for her grandchildren. Louise's seamstress abilities produced clothing that looked like it came from a department store. Louise loved her family and God with all her heart, mind and soul. Many family dinners prepared and enjoyed in her home throughout the years whether on Sunday, a holiday, or someone's birthday.Louise spent many years working as a manager at the S&H Green Stamp Store in Stephenville, Texas.
Louise leaves behind to cherish her memory one daughter, Betty Lois McCubbin of Pencil Bluff, Arkansas. Grandmamma leaves behind by six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Travis Austin Dunn, two daughters, Wanda Joyce Limbocker, Doris Louise Robbins, two sisters, Hallie Fincher Jacobs, Mary Jones Hester, two brothers, Delbert Louis Philips, James Thruman Philips, grandson, Joe Davis Robbins, and great granddaughter, Deanna Louise Holt.
Louise's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 30,2019 at the Pencil Bluff Church of Christ with Heath Larner, officiating. Arrangement and cremation are being entrusted to Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas
