LJ Watkins, 70, of Mena, Arkansas passed from this life Sunday, August 14, 2011 in a Fort Smith, Arkansas hospital. LJ was born August 13, 1941 in Waldron, Arkansas to the late Belton and Nannie (Hickerson) Watkins. He was a Certified Public Account in Mena, Arkansas and Waldron for many years. He was an avid horseman and farmer. LJ is survived by his wife Sue of Mena, Arkansas; one son Wyatt Watkins and wife Deborah of Tonitown, Arkansas, one daughter Laura Watkins of Fort Smith, Arkansas, one grandson Ty Hale, one granddaughter Hannah Watkins, two step-sons, Russell Broomfield of Waldron, Arkansas and Roger Broomfield of Fort Smith, Arkansas, three step grandsons, Jason Broomfield, Matthew Broomfield & Alec Broomfield and step great-grandchildren Kylie & Jacob Broomfield. LJ?s funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the Boles Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Pat Ray Biggs officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Buffalo Cemetery near Boles, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas. LJ?s pallbearers will be Mike Wright, Doug Sims, Paul Atchley, Matthew Broomfield, Jason Broomfield, and Blake Wright. LJ?s visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m..
