Leola Gayle Stringer of Fort Smith, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, November 8, 2014 in Fort Smith, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. Lea was born September 4, 1949 to Charley Hudgens and Shirley ( Blalock) Hudgens in Waldron, Arkansas. Leola was 65 years, 2 months and 4 days old.
Lea was a member of Rye Hill Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In January of 1967, Lea married the love of her life. They spent 46 years of wedded bliss until his passing in 2013. Lea loved to read and travel. Her most treasured past time was being a nana to her grandson.
Lea leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter, Angela Nigh of Greenwood, Arkansas, one son, Todd Stringer of Greenwood, Arkansas, one grandson, Clayton M. Nigh of Greenwood, Arkansas, one brother Jimmy Hudgens of Waldron, Arkansas. Lea will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives were impacted by her including a host of nieces, nephews, close friends and loved ones.
Lea is preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Stringer, her parents, Charley and Shirley Hudgens, and one sister, Sharon Owens.
Lea's life celebration will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Rye Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Franklin officiating. Interment will be in the Hon Cemetery in Hon Arkansas at a later date. Arrangements and cremation are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
Lea's pallbearers will be Shannon Hudgens, Sheldon Hudgens, Ronnie Keener, Dan Richardson, Todd Stringer and Clay Nigh.
Lea's visitation will be Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where Lea's family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
