Kathleen Norris Nelson of Y-City, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in Fort Smith, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. Kathleen was born March 5, 1928 to Raymond Thomas Hightower and Valina G. McCollum in Batesville, Arkansas. Kathleen was 84 years, 6 months and 21 days old. Kathleen lived in Y-City, Arkansas for over 30 years. She was a member of Waldron Church of Christ. Kathleen was a devoted Christian woman who loved reading her Bible and sharing the word of God. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also listened to country music. But first, last and always Kathleen was a Lady and it was reflected in her every action. Kathleen leaves behind to cherish her memory, Billy Joe Nelson of Y-City, one daughter, Patricia McCollum of Muldrow, Oklahoma, one son Ray Pridmore of Muldrow, Oklahoma. Kathleen is also survived by three grandchildren, Johanna Fair of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Shannon Davis of Phoenix City, Alabama and Derik Pridmore of Muldrow, Oklahoma as well as two great grandchildren, Valina Myers of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Randal Fair of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Valina (McCollum) Hightower. A private family service will be held in Gurdy Cemetery in Gurdy, Oklahoma at a later date. Arrangements and cremation are being entrusted to Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
