JW Cleland

JW (Dub) Cleland of Parks, Arkansas, passed from this life Tuesday, November 4, 2014, in his home. Dub was born November 22, 1932 in Harvey, Arkansas to Rance Cleland and Allie (Trotter) Cleland. He was 81 years, 11 months and 13 days old. Dub was a member of Parks Baptist Church in Parks, Arkansas.

Dub served a tenure in the United States Army. He was a veteran and in his duty he served as a U.S. Army MP. Dub had a love for bird hunting and Christmas all year long. He loved to play all kinds of music, and to spend time with his family.

Dub leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his wife of 59 years, Barbara Janell Cleland of the home and one daughter, Phyllis Cleland Wilcox and her husband Jim of Waldron, Arkansas. He will be missed by two grandchildren, Stephen Jones and his wife Ana, of Avoca, Arkansas, and Amie Wilcox of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Dub will remain in the hearts of two great grandchildren, Layla and Lane Jones of Avoca, Arkansas.

Dub was preceded in death by his parents, Rance and Allie Cleland, and one sister, Frankie Mae Austin.

Dub's celebration of life will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014, at the Parks Baptist Church in Parks, Arkansas with Rev. John Elmore and Rev. Bill Harwell officiating. Interment will follow in Hawkins Cemetery near Parks, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to Heritage Memorial Funeral in Waldron, Arkansas.

Dub's pallbearers will be LD Powell, Wade Ridenhour, Danny Morran, Kelly Cole, MG Long and Wallace Hill.

Dub's visitation will be Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where Dub's family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
