Thelma Juanita Churchill of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, September 19, 2012 in a Fort Smith, Arkansas hospital surrounded by her loving family. Juanita was born July 24, 1929 in Batesville, Arkansas to Elda Lynn and Lillie Edna (Galloway) Salkeld. Juanita was 83 years, 1 month, and 26 days old. Juanita was a member of the Waldron United Methodist Church. Juanita was a member of numerous community, civic, and charitable organizations for many years. Juanita and Bill were the founders and promoters of Turkey Track Bluegrass Festival in 1978. They were among the first coaches when the Girls Ponytail Softball League was formed. Juanita leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, E. B. "Bill" Churchill of the home; two daughters, Sherry Johnston and husband, Butch of Waldron, Arkansas, Terri Churchill of Waldron, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Andrea Dehart and husband, Eric of Hontubby, Oklahoma, Mikey Johnston and wife, Christi of Waldron, Arkansas Brandy Davis and husband, Steven of Greenwood, Arkansas, Jill Rogers and husband, Dusty of South Muskogee, Oklahoma, Tina White of Barling, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Karissa Hassell, Claydin Boren, William Dehart, Tyler Trozzi, Jake Rogers, Mikaleigh Davis, Gracie Davis, and Brayedan Davis. Juanita is also survived by one sister, Amy Brooks of Little Rock, Arkansas; one brother, Ernest Salkeld and wife, Reva Nell of Dallas, Texas; and two sisters-in-law, Maxine Salkeld of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Virginia Pearce of Conway, Arkansas. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, Elda Lynn and Lillie Edna Salkeld; sister, Maxine Clough and husband John; brothers, Frank Salkeld, Wilmer Salkeld; and brother-in-law, Sanford Brooks. Juanita's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Waldron United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas. Juanita?s pallbearers will be Eugene Taff, Eric Dehart, Rogers Sparks, Russell Sparks, Keith Morris, Butch Johnston, Clayden Boren, William Dehart, Karissa Hassall. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Dale Sparks, Boone Carlon, Dr. Leonard Fuson and Curtis Howze. Juanita?s visitation will be Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where her family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m..
