Jimmy V. Ivy (better known as Red) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, formerly of Jackson Mississippi passed from this life, March 8, 2018 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Red was born February 12,1951 in Memphis, Tennessee to Helson and Mary (Phillips) Ivy. He was 67 years, and 24 days old.
Red was born in Memphis Tennessee but grew up in Tupelo Mississippi. He was an outstanding high school athlete and attended Ole Miss on a football scholarship. After college, Red went to work at Tupelo Coffee Company which was the family business. In the earlier 80's he started his own Food Brokerage Business. He worked in the Food business until the day he passed. Red bled Sysco blue his entire career. A pioneer in the Food Service Industry, Red touched the lives of so many through the years, and was a mentor and guide to many in the business world. Always smiling and positive, loyal to the end. Red loved life and had a "Large time!"
Red leaves behind to cherish his memory, the love of his life, Diane (Wright) Ivy of Hot Springs, Arkansas, one brother, Bar Ivy and wife Becky of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, brothers in law Howard Wright and wife Stephanie, Mike Wright and wife Denise, sister in law Belynda Bailey and brother in law Keith Wright and wife Melissa all of Waldron, Arkansas. Red also leaves everlasting memories with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and cherished collegues.
Red was preceded in death by his parents, Helson and Mary Ivy and his father and mother in law, Jackie and Edith Wright.
Red's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas. Interment will follow in the Pilot Prairie Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas.
Red's pallbearers will be Howard Wright, Mike Wright, Keith Wright, Jimmy Garner, JP Langston, Toby Hendrix and Jeff Easterling. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Ivy, Ray Sutherlin and Greg Steeves.
Red's visitation will be Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
