Jerry Don Newberry of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life Saturday afternoon surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born January 20, 1951 in Waldron, Arkansas to Charles and Marcine (Taff) Newberry. He was 66 years, 5 months, and 25 days old.
Jerry graduated Waldron High School with the love of his life Janice Franklin and they were married March 15, 1969. He was a maintenance technician at Tyson Foods before retiring in 2007 after 31 years of service. He loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. Jerry will be missed by all who knew him and the many whose lives he touched.
Jerry leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife and best friend of 48 years, Janice of the home; two daughters, Tammy Gilbert and husband Marty of Waldron, AR, Tresha Diffee and husband Greg of Henderson, TN. Pawpaw will forever remain in the heart of his grandchildren, Haley Harris and husband Cord, Clay Gilbert and wife Jordy, Kayla Thornsberry and fiancé Rodney, Katie Thornsberry, Teegan Diffee, Gregory "Peanut" Diffee, and Grayson Diffee; great grandchildren: Lane, Logan, Liam Harris and Kenlee Brooks. He also leaves behind three sisters, Patsy Walker and husband Tom of Waldron, Sharon Williams and husband Dale of Waldron, and Pam Davis and husband Stan of Waldron as well as his father in law, Jr. Franklin of Waldron.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marcine Newberry, one brother, David Newberry and mother-in-law, Ramona Franklin.
Jerry's Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Benton and Ray Jett, officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove #3 Cemetery near Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron Arkansas.
Jerry's pallbearers will be Marty Gilbert, Greg Diffee, Russell Walker, Shawn Williams, Brian Davis and Brad Davis. His honorary pallbearers will be everyone whose life he has touched.
Jerry's visitation will be Monday, July 17, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
