Iva Ridenhour

Iva Mae Ridenhour of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, February 18, 2013 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by her six children and their families that loved her dearly. Iva was 89 years, 9 months, and 20 days old. She was born April 29th, 1923 in Parks, Arkansas to Delmer Jett and Tellie (Cole) Jett. Iva became a member of Haw Creek Baptist Church as a young lady, and was also married at Haw Creek Baptist. She was the oldest living member of this church. She served as a teacher there in past years. Iva had a love for decorating her home and landscaping the yard. It didn't matter if she lived in an old farm house, an apartment or a nice home, she always managed to bring it to life with her ideas in decorating. She loved an orderly, clean house and it was always ready for unexpected guests. Iva spent most of her life caring for her children and doing the accounting for the livestock auction that she and Leonard ran for years. She also worked at Waldron Senior Center for several years. Iva leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Leonard Ed & Deidre Ridenhour, Jean & Jimmy Dale Solomon, Kenneth & Sherry Ridenhour, Freddie & Cheril Ridenhour all of Waldron, Arkansas, Karen & Mo Broomfield and Susan & Link Hale of Benton, Arkansas, her brothers Eugene & his wife Melba Jett of Whitter, California, Eursell Jett of Ventura, California and Clifford Jett of Fort Smith, Arkansas and her sisters Anna Beaty of Penn Valley, California and Jo Johnson of Waldron, Arkansas. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mom & dad, Leonard Ridenhour, the father of her children, a granddaughter Donna Joyce Ridenhour, a brother and his wife Lester and Verdie Jett, two brother-in-laws, Jake Johnson and Fay Beaty. Iva's life celebration will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 22nd, at the Haw Creek Baptist Church with Reverend John Elmore officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas. Iva's pallbearers will be her grandsons, Mitch Ridenhour, Wade Ridenhour, Randy Solomon,Brad Ridenhour, Shawn Ridenhour, Chad Broomfield and Parker Hale. Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Morgan, Michael Williams, Gilbert Cervenka, Jerry Beaty, Eugene Dedmon, Ronnie Johnson and Junior Newman. Iva's visitation will be Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
