Iola Elizabeth Essman, 70, of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life Sunday, August 9, 2009 in a Fort Smith, Arkansas hospital.
Iola was born April 23, 1939 in Grafton, West Virginia to the late William McMullen and Dollie (Kirk) McMullen. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Waldron and a homemaker.
Iola is survived by one son, Richard Allen Edens of Waldron, Arkansas; and one grandson, Skylour of Waldron, Arkansas.
She is also survived by four sisters, Flo Phillips of Waldron, Arkansas, Bea Houser of Watkinsville, Georgia, Patty Richardson of New Castle, Pennsylvania, and Barbara Duncan of El Paso, Texas.
Iola is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Essman, a son, Charles Edens, and a brother, John McMullen.
Iola?s funeral service will be held Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jackie Smith, officiating with interment to follow at the Sehorn Cemetery in Winfield, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron.
Her pallbearers will be Freddie Essman, Josh Essman, Ron Houser, Corry Cooper and Robert Slater.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2009 and 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the funeral home.
Iola?s family will receive friends at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 12, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m..
