Ina Alice Hunt

January 1, 1920 — August 16, 2014

Ina Alice (McCubbin) Hunt of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, August 16, 2014 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. Ina was born January 1, 1920 to Robert McCubbin and Mrytle (Mercer) McCubbin in Eagleton, Arkansas. Ina was 94 years, 7 months and 15 days old.

Ina worked in various jobs in Waldron before her retirement in 1973. At the time of her retirement, she began to focus all her attention to her family. She loved to cook for them. When she couldn't work outside, Ina loved to do piece quilts. Everyone of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have a quilt made with love just for them. Growing up in the depression years, Ina was taught to grow, can and freeze all the veggies out of her garden. She would worry how would her family eat in the winter months if she didn't have her garden. Working in her garden and her flower beds brought great joy to Ina. She was well known and even recognized at the Waldron Housing Authority as "Yard of the Month".

Ina leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter, Judy Montgomery and husband Jerry of Greenwood, Arkansas, one son, Bill Hunt and Marilyn of Waldron, Arkansas. Grandma will be forever missed by four grandchildren: Mica Grimmett and husband Richard of White Hall, Arkansas, Tara Hunt of Mt. Ida, Arkansas, Michael Montgomery and wife Hollie of Mena, Arkansas and Jacy Houston and husband Jarrod of Clarksville, Arkansas, as well as seven great grandchildren: Kylie, Hunter, Keala, Bryce, Carson, Brady and Jayla, also one great great grandson due in December. Ina is also survived by one brother, Willie McCubbin of Karn City, Texas and two sisters: Mary Robinson of Modesto, California and Louise Scarbrough of Florence, South Carolina. Ina will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives were impacted by her, including a host of nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and loved ones.

Ina is preceded in death by her husband, VC Gube Hunt, her parents, Bob & Mrytle McCubbin, one sister, Elois Garner and two great grandchildren: Bailee Montgomery and James Montgomery.
