Icy Faye Nichols of Fayetteville, Arkansas, formerly of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in Fayetteville, surrounded by her loving family. Faye was born December 27, 1930 to Bev Huddleston and Mina (Blackburn) Huddleston in Scott County Arkansas. Faye was 83 years, 2 months and 27 days old.
Faye was one of eleven children. As a young girl at the age of 16, Faye married the love of her life, Leon Nichols. Together they shared 66 years of marital bliss. They raised four children and then they carried the precious title of "Grandparents". Faye earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. For 30 plus years, Faye worked with young children all across Waldron, Arkansas helping to mold them and teach them to be all they could be. She eventually served as Director of Preschool. Faye was a mentor, teacher, and friend to everyone she met. Faye enjoyed her work, but after retirement she had the opportunity to do what she cherished most and that was simply love her family. She was a loving and committed wife, mother, grandmother and mother in law. Her family was her hobby, her pastime and her passion.
Faye leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband Leon of the home, three sons, Terry Nichols, Perry Nichols and Gerry Nichols. Moopsie will forever remain in the hearts of her grandchildren: Joshua, Kris, Kasey, Nick, Ben, Emily, Melody, Jeremy and Haley as well as two great grandchildren: Presley and Kinley. Faye will be missed by all that knew her and those whose lives were impacted by her including many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and loved ones.
Faye is preceded in death by her parents, Bev and Mina Huddleston, one daughter, Sherry and one granddaughter Katelynn.
Faye's memorial life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Waldron First Church of the Nazarene in Waldron, Arkansas with Chase Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements and cremation are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
