Howard Jess Cox, Jr. passed from this life Saturday afternoon at his home in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by his family. He was born December 25, 1944 in Norman, Oklahoma to the late Howard Jess and Thelma Lucille (Edwards) Cox. He was 66 years of age. Jessie was a dare devil with a love for his horses, motorcycles, and Country Music. Jessie is survived by his wife, Sadie Ann Cox of the home; one step-daughter, Angelia Fontenot of Waldron, Arkansas; one step-son, Rodney Davis of Greenwood, Arkansas; three sisters, Sherry Gilmore of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Diana Hughes of Waldron, Arkansas, Donna Featheroff of Newalla, Oklahoma; one brother Wesley Wallace of Newalla, Oklahoma; and several nieces, and nephews. Jessie was preceded in death in addition to his parents by one son, Howard Jess "Pooh" Cox, III. Jessie's family will hold a private graveside service in celebration of his life. Arrangements and cremation are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas. Jessie's family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, P. O. Box 358, Waldron, Arkansas 72958.
