Horace (Hoss) Bottoms, 90, of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life Friday, July 8, 2011 in a Waldron, Arkansas nursing home. Hoss was born February 12, 1921 at Ross Creek, Arkansas to the late Thomas Newton and Mattie (Goddard) Bottoms. He was raised in the Ross Creek Community and attending school and church at the Bush Community Church. He served his community as a carpenter, painter, business owner, worked for the U. S. Forrest Service and served on the Waldron City Council for over 2 Decades. He was known wherever he went for his friendliness and humor. Hoss is survived by his wife of 62 years, Annabelle Maxwell Bottoms; four children, Randy Bottoms and wife Midge of Waldron, Swanna Frizzell of Waldron, Karon Ramsey and husband Max of Mena, Sharon Brigance and husband Jack of Russellville; a sister, Charlene Simmons of Waldron, Arkansas; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and many friends and relatives. Hoss was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Newton and Mattie Goddard Bottoms, three sisters, Gladys Hughes, Mary Nell Whitson, and a twin sister that died at birth; six brothers, Otis, Glen, Malcolm, George Lee (Bud), James Thomas (J. T.) and Bob Bottoms and two nephews, Larry and Dale Bottoms. Hoss? memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Woodral, officiating. Hoss? family had a private graveside service at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Bush Cemetery with Rev. Fred Woodral, officiating. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
