Grannie Irene Hunt, 92, of Blue Ball, Arkansas passed from this life Saturday, August 27, 2011 in her home.
Grannie was born February 25, 1919 in Booneville, Arkansas to Wallis and Virdie (Irons) McCubbin. She married her husband of 70 years Luther Hunt on April 12, 1941. She was a homemaker and gardener. She was a member of the Egypt Freewill Baptist Church in Blue Ball, Arkansas.
Grannie is survived by one daughter, Wilma Jones of Blue Ball, Arkansas; one daughter-in-law, Lois McCubbin of Pencil Bluff, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Kathy and Gerald Holt of Blue Ball, Arkansas, Betty and Robin Singleton of Pencil Bluff, Travis McCubbin of Parks, Arkansas, Juanita and Norman Holt of Waldron, Arkansas; five great-grandchildren, Alisha, Sabra, Hannah, Jarrod, Terry; seven great-great-grandchildren, Keegan, Lukas, Eden, Heaven, Angel, Hayden, and Aaron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gramps Hunt, son, Charles McCubbin, great-granddaughter, DeAnna Holt, sister Bernice Limbocker, and two son-in-laws, Floyd Himes, and A. J. Jones.
Grannie's life celebration service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the Egypt Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. J. West, officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery with Jackie Allen, officiating.. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
Grannie's pallbearers will be Travis McCubbin, Robin Singleton, Rusty Defoor, Virgil Lee Wilkins, Les Vaughn, and Todd Johnston. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Owens, Caleb Short, and Lonnie Apple.
Visitation will be Monday, August 29, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m..
