Gerald D. Martin of Lake Hinkle-Waldron, Arkansas entered into rest with our Heavenly Father on October 10, 2014 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born June 19, 1935 in Camas, Montana. He was 79 years, 3 months and 21 days old.
Gerald was a lifelong fox and wolf hunter and enjoyed listening to the music of the hounds. "Pepaw" loved his kids and grands and spending time with all his friends and neighbors. He was retired from a career in the Furniture Industry.
Gerald is survived by his wife Martha "Maw" of the home, one daughter Kay Dickson of Appleton, WI, three sons: David Martin and wife Carla of Hackett, Arkansas, Billy Don White of Waldron, Arkansas, Bobby White of Waldron, Arkansas and nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Clercie Martin, sister, Melba Jo Thrift and husband Eldrige Thrift, Donita Martin and son in law Lt. Col. William Dickson.
Gerald's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Mike Jordan and Bro. Jordan Martin officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Log Cemetery near Barber, Arkansas.
Gerald's pallbearers will be Shay Hattabaugh, Jerry Bob Metcalf, Jeremy Metcalf, Charlie Hughes, Robert Megby, Butch Riggs, Chris McComsey and Walter Buckles. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Yahn, Tom Wagner, John Chesman and all Hunting Buddies. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
Gerald's visitation will be Monday, October 13, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
