Eunice Zenz, 74 of Parks, Arkansas passed from this life Thursday morning, June 16, 2011 at her home.
Eunice was born December 1,1936 in Hazel Green, WI to Joseph and Helen (Cullen) Timmerman. Eunice was educated at St Clara Academy in Sinsinawa, WI. She met Larry Zenz, the love of her life, and husband of 54 years, during a dance at The Palace in Galena, IL. Larry and Eunice married on October 15,1955 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sinsinawa. They farmed for a few years before buying a gas station on the corner of Highways 61 and 35. Eunice maintained the bookkeeping, kept the coffee hot and the conversations lively for many years as a partner in Zenz Welding and Manufacturing, in Lancaster, WI. She was an active member of St. Clements Catholic Church in Lancaster where she held offices in Catholic Daughters and the parish council. She taught high school religious education there for many years. In 1983, after retiring from their business, she and Larry returned to farming in Parks, AR, raising cattle and lumber. Her involvement in church continued at St. Jude Catholic Church in Waldron, AR where she again taught religious education, served on parish council, and led Bible studies. In her local community, she served as an officer of the Scott County Extension Homemakers Association. Eunice enjoyed playing bridge, traveling with Larry, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was fun-loving and entertaining with many personal insights. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and compassion left an indelible mark on both her family and many friends.
Eunice is survived by her husband Larry of the home; seven children, Julie Zenz of Lancaster, WI, Jane Karleskint and husband Dr. Michael of Sherman, TX, Jim Zenz and wife Linda of De Kalb, IL, Joyce Link and husband Matt of Black Earth, WI, Jean Ackerman and husband Jonathan of North Granby, CT, Joe Zenz and wife Shari of Lancaster, WI, Jennifer Bellinder and husband Bryce of Prairie du Sac, WI; sixteen grandchildren: Sarah Loveland, Michael Loveland, Gavin Karleskint, Tony Karleskint, Ryan Zenz, Madeline Zenz, Jessie Zenz, Jacob Zenz, Sophie Ackerman, Ella Ackerman, Katelyn Zenz, Cole Zenz, Adam Bellinder, Sara Bellinder, Sam Bellinder, Luke Bellinder, and Anne Bellinder; five brothers and a sister, Bob Timmerman, Jim Timmerman and wife Alice, Dick Timmerman and wife Judy, Ellen Westimeier and husband Herb, Dan Timmerman and wife Karen, one sister-in-law Ann Zeigle and husband Warren, and brother-in-law Ben Koeller, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sister-in-laws, Rosemary Koeller and Ann Timmerman.
Eunice's Mass of Christian Burial service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church in Waldron, AR with Father Neil Pazzulo officiating.
A memorial mass and burial will be held at St. Clements Catholic Church in Lancaster, WI with Father Bill Seipp and Father Bart Timmerman officiating.
Eunice's visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas. Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
