Eldred Tinder 81, of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life Monday, December 28, 2009 in a Fort Smith, Arkansas hospital.
Eldred was born April 9, 1928 in Logan County, Arkansas to the late Elbert Leroy Tinder and Cless D. (Brothers) Tinder. He attended the Waldron First Church of the Nazarene, and was a retired carpenter and contractor. He was known by most residents around Scott County for his blackberries. Eldred enjoyed fishing and hunting but most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eldred is survived by his daughter, Kathy Goff and husband Dan of Mansfield, Arkansas; a son, Thurston Tinder of Waldron, Arkansas; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Elgie Jeffery of Waldron, Arkansas; a brother, Joe Tinder of Waldron, Arkansas, and numerous family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Audrey (Hale) Tinder; a grandson; and a sister.
Services for Eldred will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Waldron First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. David Goff, officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery in Waldron. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory.
Visitation will be 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at the funeral home.
Eldred?s family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
