Donna Faye Van Pelt

Donna Faye Van Pelt of Greenwood, Arkansas, formerly of Hackett, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, October 25, 2015 in Greenwood, Arkansas. Donna was born May 17, 1936 to Roy Clayton Oaks and Dona A. (Kelly) Oaks in Lake Village, Arkansas. Donna was 79 years, 5 months and 8 days old. She was a member of Hackett First Baptist Church in Hackett Arkansas.

Donna married the love of her life, Charles Van Pelt when she was just a young lady. Together they raised a family of five children and then became precious grandparents. Donna enjoyed fishing with Charles. She really loved cooking for her family and singing at church. She especially enjoyed going to church socials and listening to the talented folks God had placed in her life.

Donna leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter, Kim Lamb and husband Terry of Waldron, Arkansas, and three sons: Charles Van Pelt II and wife Judy of Cedarville, Arkansas, Kenny Van Pelt and wife Lisa of Pueblo, Colorado and David Van Pelt and wife Mindy of Greenwood, Arkansas. Meme will forever remain in the hearts of her grandchildren: Charles Van Pelt III, Manolito Van Pelt, Chris Van Pelt, Bro. Phillip Scantling, Jon Lamb and one beloved granddaughter, Kayla Van Pelt as well as six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Rev. Charles Van Pelt, one son Raymond Van Pelt, her parents: Roy and Dona Oaks and one sister and three brothers.
Donna's life celebration will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Hackett First Baptist Church in Hackett, Arkansas with Bro, Phillip Scantling, Bro, Joe Silva and Bro. Fred Oaks officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Bong(Manolito) Van Pelt, Charles Van Pelt III, Phillip Scantling, Larry Oaks, Mike Oaks and Jan Colvett. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny McBride, Bill Dake and Ed Mitchell.

Donna's visitation will be Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the Hackett First Baptist Church in Hackett, Arkansas.
