Danny Carrol Metcalf aka "Killer" of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, July 28, 2014 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. Danny was born December 31, 1948 to Walter Metcalf and Melva (Johnson) Metcalf in Barber, Arkansas. Danny was 65 years, 6 months and 28 days old.
In 1965, as a junior playing football for Mansfield High School, Danny earned the nickname "Killer". Although this name would follow him for the rest of his life and sounded a little rough, Danny was a kind hearted, sweet spirited man. The cowboy in Danny was evident as he rode in the Waldron Quadrille for a great number years and he enjoyed the rodeo. So it's quite fitting that he was always up for a John Wayne flick. As a young boy growing up with many siblings, Danny learned the meaning of love for others. In 1972, Danny married the love of his life, Vicki Willsey. Together they had 2 boys who would make them so proud. With that being said, Danny cherished his family and everything he did was for them. Danny especially enjoyed dotting over those 2 precious little granddaughters.
Danny leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Vicki (Willsey) Metcalf of the home, two sons: Danny Jason Metcalf of Waldron, Arkansas and Jonathan Kyle Metcalf and wife Christina of Greenwood, Arkansas. Papa Bear will forever be missed by the light of his world, two granddaughters: Aubrey Jane and Molly Ann of Greenwood, Arkansas. Danny will remain in the hearts of his siblings: Lori Ann Rodrigues and husband Clarence of Waldron, Arkansas, Brenda Dragoo and husband Louie of Alverta, California, W.L. (Dub) Metcalf and wife Cynthia of Robert Lee, Texas, Ronnie Metcalf and wife Nancy of Waldron, Arkansas, Roger Metcalf and wife Rhonda of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Rick Metcalf and wife Lynn of Waldron, Arkansas, Jerry Metcalf and wife Dianne of Waldron, Arkansas and one sister in law Mareica Metcalf of Hackett, Arkansas. Danny will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him including a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and loved ones.
