Catherine Norris Hogans of Danville, Arkansas, formerly of Odessa Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in Fort Smith, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. Catherine was born September 25, 1926 in Lamesa, Texas to Edgar Harvey Miller and Kate Gillispie Miller. Catherine was 86 years, 11 months and 9 days old.
Catherine was a nurse for 40 plus years in Texas. She moved from Texas to Danville, Arkansas three years ago to be closer to her family. She enjoyed her family and cherished the opportunity to be near them. Catherine loved to write children's stories. Catherine especially enjoyed art and doing beadwork. She was always ready to go when it came to arts and crafts and going to the fairs. She had even entered some of her handmade items in the local fair this year.
Catherine leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter in law, Judy Hines of Harvey, Arkansas. Grandmother Hogans will forever be missed by two grandchildren: Teri Brothers & husband Richie of Harvey, Arkansas and Buddy Hines of Harvey, Arkansas, as well as ten great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. Catherine will be missed by all who knew her and the many whose lives she touched, including a number of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
Catherine is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Kate Miller, one daughter, Phillis Diann Threatt, one son, Madison Threatt Jr., and one grandchild, Douglas Hines, two brothers, Edgar Miller and Charlie Miller.
Catherine's life celebrations will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Mike Shaddon officiating. Interment will follow Monday, September 9, 2013 in Odessa, Texas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons: Buddy Hines, Richie Brothers, Wesley Brothers, Rusty Brothers, Justin Brothers, Blake Hines, Brody Hines and Evan Vaught.
Catherine's visitation will be Friday, September 6, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
