Carl Gene Essman, 73, of Ratcliff, Arkansas passed from this life Sunday, October 18, 2009 in his home. Carl was born December 5, 1935 in Waldron, Arkansas to the late Ira Andrew Essman and Gustie (Bates) Essman. He served his country in the Army and was stationed in Germany from 1958 to 1960. He loved Bluegrass Music and enjoyed woodworking. Carl is survived by his wife of 38 years Jerldeen of the home; two daughters, Teresa Grimmett of Fayetteville, Kathy Fowler of Ratcliff; two step-sons, Troy Fittin of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Donald Fittin of Alma, Arkansas; one sister, Winnamae McEntire of Waldron, Arkansas, two nieces; three nephews, five grandchildren, and one great grandson. Carl?s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the Waldron First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Hogan, officiating with interment the Lamb Cemetery. Arrangement are being entrusted to Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Freddie McEntire, Jimmy Graham, James Hattabaugh, Jerrel Plummer, Robin Barker and J. D. Graham. Carl?s visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
