Bobby Dell Harberson of Boles, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, December 3, 2011in a Waldron nursing home. Bobby was born December 17, 1931 in Waldron, Akansas to the late Loyd Delmore Harberson and Bernice Diane (Lester) Harberson. Bobby was 79 years, 11months and 16 days old.
Bobby was the oldest of five boys. In his early years Bobby loved to fly remote controlled air planes. On December 22, 1954 he married the love of his life Erma Cates Harberson. They were married for 54 years when Erma went to be with the Lord in July 2009. Bobby retired from the Air Force on February 1, 1971. During his tenure in the Air Force he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was assigned to Headquarters 2854 air base wing at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. He was also stationed at Kelly Air Force Base in Texas, Headquarters European Security Region in Germany with the rank of Technical Sergeant. After his retirement, Bobby loved fishing and had it down to an art. His favorite fishing hole was the Waldron City Lake. He loved going to the Parks Senior Center every day and playing dominoes with all his friends. Bobby was a faithful member of Boles Southern Baptist Church. Bobby received commondation for his dedication and commitment to the maintenance and upkeep of the church grounds since the establishment of the church. On behalf of the church May 22, 2011 was proclaimed as Bobby Harberson Day.
Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory, three daughters, Annette Sims of Boles, Arkansas, Diana Cox, and husband Roy of Rudy, Akransas and Linda Duran, and husband Jerry of Waldron, Arkansas and one son Robert Harberson, and wife Diane of Aurora, Colorado. Grandpa will be greatly missed by eight granddaughters, Nikki Buckles, Morena Howell, Stephanie Bock, April Cox, Maryssa Harberson, Rebecca Harberson, Brittany Harberson, and Kelli Wagner. Also going to miss grandpa will be three grandsons, Christopher Cox, Kyle Harberson, and Jerry Duran Jr. Grandpa has also touched the lives of his great grandchildren, Colton Maby, Shawn Cox, Jaren Howell, Dakota Bock, Amanda Duran and Lucy Duran. Bobby is also survived by four brothers, Billy Harberson, and wife Dora of Pensacola, Florida, Kenneth Harberson, and wife Brenda of Cabot, Arkansas, Charles Harberson, of Searcy, Arkansas, and Douglas Harberson, and wife Barbara of The Woodlands, Texas.
Bobby?s going home service will be Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Scantling and Jerry Duran officiating. Interment will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery in Boles, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
Bobby?s pallbearers will be Pat Ray Biggs, Eddie Atnip, Justin Cole, Bob Slagle, Don Wright, and Albert Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Slagle, Tommy Harberson, and Tommy Williams.
Bobby?s visitation will be Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas. Bobby's family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m at the funeral home.
