Arthur "Art" Weldon Slater

Arthur Weldon Slater of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life Friday, October 31, 2014 in Waldron, Arkansas. Arthur was born December 2, 1932 in Abilene, Texas to Arthur and Doshia Slater. He was 81 years, 10 months and 29 days old.

Art had a love for the outdoors, he loved going hunting and camping. He loved telling jokes and liked it even better if he could pull a good joke on you. He had a deep love for kids and his family.

Arthur leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Maria Slater of the home, two daughters, Esther Slater of the home, Rhonda England of Lapine, Oregon. He will be missed by seven grand children, Darla Schantz, Misty Dodson, Croix Vasquez, Seth Vasquez, Thomas Balestrieri, Anthony Balestrieri, three great grandchildren, Crystal Schantz, Hunter Dodson, Gage Dodson. Art will remain in the hearts of his brother, Ray Slater and his sister Willa Sinette. His three sister-in-laws, Edna Slater, Edita Ransom and Estela Slater. Also two nephews, Tim Price and David Price, three nieces, Lorie, Lisa and Candace.

Art's life celebration will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Waldron Pentecostal Church of God in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Ricky Hunt, Rev. David Hines and Rev. Collins Lane officiating. Arrangements and cremation are being entrusted Heritage Memorial Funeral in Waldron, Arkansas.
