Anna Lyles Burton, 100, of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life Saturday, July 30, 2011 in a Waldron, Arkansas nursing home.
Anna was born March 31, 1911 in Graham Oklahoma to the late H. P. and Mattie (Briscoe) Lyles. During World War II, in 1942, Anna moved to Long Beach, California and worked for Douglas Aircraft as one of the original ?Rosie Riveters?, putting the military aircraft together. Later she transferred to Kaiser Shipyards and worked there as a welder and a burner. After which she spent 20 years working for Monark Match Company in San Jose, California.
Anna is survived by one son, Gerald Lyles and wife Jeannie of Waldron, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Kathy Frye of Waldron, Arkansas, Debra Millar and husband Robert of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jeanne Gann of Waldron, Arkansas; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Anna?s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hines, officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Graham Cemetery in Graham, Oklahoma. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
Anna?s visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
