Melvin "Mel" Kelley

Mel Kelley of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life, Sunday, December 27, 2015 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. Mel was born November 18, 1931 to John Riley Kelley and Myrtle Lou (Cole) Kelley in Little Kansas, Oklahoma. Mel was 84 years, 1 month and 17 days old.

Mel loved to play music. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mel's favorite past time was spending time with his family and friends and sharing life experiences.

Mel leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Doris Kelley of the home, sons: James Kelley of Huntington, Arkansas, Chris Kelley and wife Lita, and Wilson Kennedy and wife Tanya all of Waldron, Arkansas, one daughter-in-law, Margaret Kelley of Waldron, Arkansas along with one brother, Dale Kelley. Papa will forever remain in the hearts of his grandchildren: Ashley, A.J. Krista, Teresa, Jamie, David, Larry, Autumn, Logan, Billy, Toby, Heather, Ronnie, Angel and Melarry as well as his beloved great grandchildren. Mel will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives he impacted, including an extended family of friends and loved ones dear to his heart.

Mel was preceded in death by his parents: Riley and Myrtle Kelley, one son, Larry Kelley, one daughter, Susan Urban, one brother, Marvin Kelley and one grandchild, Cynthia Renee Kelley.

Mel's life celebrations will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Rickey Hunt and Rev. Tim Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Mel's pallbearers will be Jeff Cabe, Jeff Wood, Kenneth Nevills, Bill Tull, Dennis McDonald and A.J. Kelley.

Mel's visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where Mel's family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
