Delbert Edmond Hawkins of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in Booneville, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. Delbert was born December 8, 1930 to Delbert Hawkins Sr. and Etta Laird Hawkins in Parks, Arkansas. Delbert was 85 years, 4
months and 4 days old. Edmond was a longtime member of Haw Creek Baptist Church.
Edmond was a bus mechanic for the Waldron Public Schools for many years. He enjoyed coaching softball and being around all the kids.
"Edmond" leaves behind to cherish his memory, one daughter, Christy Hawkins Wells and husband Scott of Booneville, Arkansas. Pop will forever remain in the hearts of his grandchildren: Scotlyn Wells, Summer Wells and Sienna Wells all of Booneville, Arkansas. Edmond is also survived by one sister, Betty Starmer of Renton, Washington. Edmond will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him including a host of friend, neighbors and loved ones.
Edmond was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Etta Hawkins, his loving wife Patsy, and one brother, Harold Hawkins.
Edmond's life celebration will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Tonia Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Center Point Cemetery near Hon, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
Edmond's pallbearers will be Marvin Gillean, Walter Embry, Scott Wells, Jack Yancey, Rob Gollsby, and Randy Godfrey.
Edmond's visitation will be Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
